What does Barcode for Life stand for?
Each DNA profile is unique and resembles a barcode, which itself is unique for each product. DNA analysis of cancer cells of patients is the basis for future individual and personalized treatment of cancer. Our aim is to make this possible for every patient and thereby giving the patient a longer and better life: ‘For Life’. ‘We take it personally’ shows our involvement and our goal of ‘personal treatment of cancer patients’
Where does your donation go?
Barcode for Life is a foundation that raises funds for the Center For Personalized Cancer Treatment (CPCT). The center conducts research into “tailor made” individual treatment of cancer. This means that in the future, each patient with cancer will be given a tailor made cancer treatment plan and therefore will no longer be exposed to possible unnecessary side effects of a generic treatment. All donations and the proceeds of the events organized by Barcode for Life go to the groundbreaking research of the CPCT.
Save the date!
In order to provide financial support to the research into individualized cancer research, the Barcode for Life Foundation organizes several events annually. Put the following dates in your agenda:
Car Challenge – 20th April 2019
In this the 6th edition of the Barcode Car Challenge for Life, on Saturday April 20th 2019, old and new cars meet to do battle. The route is challenging for experience rally drivers, and quite difficult for teams with less experience.
The whole day is catered for from before the start, to long after the finish. It is sure to be exciting! Are new cars capable of defeating the older ones, or are the driving and navigation skills of the teams the key to success during this edition?
Stelvio for Life – August 31st 2019
On Saturday August 31st 2019, we will be organizing for the 8th time in a row, the challenge of Stelvio for Life. The participants of the climb of the Passo dello Stelvio not only take on a height change of no less than 1533 meters over 21km, but also navigate 40 challenging hairpin bends.
Who dares? We challenge you to conquer this impressive mountain pass, either by running, cycling or walking and thus raising money for a tailor-made treatment for every cancer patient.
For more information, see Stelvio for Life. You can register via that website as well.
Theater for Life – 8th October 2019
The second edition of Theater for Life will take place on the 8th october 2019. Once again, a special line-up of artists will provide a dazzling evening event. At the moment we are working hard together on a promising program. More to follow on Theater for Life and on Facebook.

News update CPCT
The CPCT (Center for Personalized Cancer Treatment) wants to offer patients with cancer a tailor made treatment and is well on the way to doing so. The CPCT only continue to do this work, thanks to all those committed and active people who walk, run or bike the Stelvio, participate in the Car Challenge, join Theater for Life, visit the Amersfoort herring party or support Barcode for Life and with that the CPCT in a different way.
We’ll do our best keep everyone – participants, sponsors and everyone involved – up to date on the goings-on at the CPCT. This is done via our website, but also ‘live,’ such as during the well visited CPCT Evening Symposium at “Het Oude Magazijn” in Amersfoort on November 19th, 2018. This informative and engaging event is due to be repeated in 2019. On this website and at www.cpct.nl you can find out when and where we will see each other again.
